Welcome to Virgin Mary Boys National School
A note from the principal:
We know how important an education is to every child so you can expect nothing but the best from our teachers when delivering that education. Whether you're new to the Virgin Mary or returning this year, we'd like to welcome you. Please see below for a snapshot of information that can be found across our website. We look forward to the year ahead!

Warm regards
Aisling Cox and all the staff

ANNUAL ADMISSIONS NOTICE  2024
Places have been awarded for all classes for September 2025. We are accepting late applications in line with our enrolment policy.

School Updates March 2025:
A reminder that we will be finishing school at 12 o clock this Friday for Bí Cinealta in service and staff consultation.  These are the new national anti bullying guidelines.
We will also be consulting with yourselves and the boys in ensuring the entire community is involved in our anti bullying policy and strategies.
We will then be closed for St Patrick's Day Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th March.

Last week we celebrated World Book Day, have a look at the pictures on our website!

This week is Seachtain na Gaeilge and we will have a  Lá Glas on Friday. The boys can wear green/ St Patrick's Day clothes and they will have a great time at the Friday assembly/ceilí !!!!
If the boys could bring in €2 towards the St Partrick's day fun and prizes that would be fantastic!

Reminder that our book fair starts tomorrow. All boys will get the chance to visit the bookfair and buy a book. The more books the boys buy, the more books the school will receive back for free!!
There's a fantastic selection down there and we're sure the boys will find something they like!

Next week we will be celebrating neurodiversity week. We'll have loads of activities and fun to celebrate the different ways our brains work. Ask the boys about it and take part in the conversation!

Aladdin
Dear parents, we will no longer be sending home paper notes. All communication and information about school closures, events in school and updates will be on ALADDIN. If you haven't signed up to Aladdin, please check your email for the link and sign up, it's so simple and saves so much time. If you are having trouble signing up, please call into the school and Lorna, our secretary or Siobhán, our home school will help you!!

Attendance
We love having your children in school and we hope they love being here, so please send them every day!! Our secretary Lorna along with our Home School Liaison teacher are here to help you with all things attendance related. Please use the Aladdin app or call us to notify if any absences. Thank you! You can check out our best attenders in the Celebrating our Students tab of the website.

If your child is unwell and cannot come to school have a look below for some helpful hints and fun activities you can do to ensure that nobody is bored!!
If they are able, you can ask your son's teacher for some work for home!
