Hi all,
I'm not sure if everyone on here was able to go into school to collect the work packs last week but a few suggestions if you weren't able or for ongoing work for the boys.
First of all don't worry too much about what the boys may be missing in school. They have covered a lot of the course up until the school closure and have done a lot of very good work :) The most important thing right now is to keep safe and well. The books will always be there when we get over this!
I would suggest the following:
- A bit of reading every day (independent or read to them or via audio book etc) - Ask them to give you a recount of what they have read. What did they like / not like? Would they recommend it to a friend?
- look at their times tables everyday. Pick one a week. We were on multiplication and division table so they would be great to revise.
- some free writing now and then. If they would keep a diary in a copy book of their time during lock down. A few sentences a day would be super or even a few pictures and make a comic.
- Practical hands on maths. Be that via cooking, cleaning, outside or some maths games physical or digital.
- Physical exercise everyday
- Some art/music where possible through the week.
Also the boys could try to do a project they will have some experience of this from school.
Pick a topic. It could be about a country or something they really like (Minecraft/ football etc.) Think of some questions they would like to answer about it and then they could research it and make a poster of what they have found out.

Water Workshop at the Rediscovery Center
The boys visited the center to learn all about the water cycle. They even made their own Terrarium.
