We are now entering what should have been our last fortnight in school, can you believe it?! 😱 So for the remainder of term time, why don’t we try to be as creative & as active as possible. Get your markers & colouring pencils out & get drawing & illustrating! Why not create your own Sports Day & challenge your families?! Try the egg & spoon race, the three-legged or wheelbarrow race. Can you make up your own race?
I’ll be posting some ideas throughout the next fortnight to help. Have fun & don’t forget to take some photos & upload them here, I’d love to see them.

If you want to try out a project, I’ve been in touch with the DSPCA ( what do those letters stand for? Email me your answers!) & they have suggested the following:
- Write an A - Z of animals
- List all the things your pet needs to stay happy and healthy
- Keep a diary of your pet activities - when they eat, when they sleep, etc.
- What is your dream pet? Look up all the things you need to care for it. What are the downsides of owning this kind of pet?
- Maths: How much does it cost to care for your pet or dream pet? Work out the cost of pet food per day, week, month? What other things cost money?
- If you have a garden or balcony, lift a rock, log, pot plant to see what mini-beasts are under it. Carefully record them and put them back without squashing them!
www.biodiversityireland.ie have some great information on recording insects in your garden.

Important notice re: Covid19 school closure
We hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe. As we are unsure, when schools will be reopening, we have decided to take the opportunity to open the school briefly next Tuesday morning 24th March and provide some Worksheets and copies for your children, if you wish to collect them to be used for some learning activities at home. You may collect the activities at the side door to the school hall @ 10 on Tuesday.
- Don’t forget to complete your Mental Maths (one column a day including Friday Review & problem solving!!), English in Practise (one column a day) & Read at Home (a page a day). Get someone at home to ask you the questions.
- Take this time to work on your ‘Free - Writing’, make use of the genres we have covered this year. Also, you are all great at drawing, create comic strips, illustrate your stories, be as creative as you can!
